Le Patent Folding Reflex existe en deux modèles : le Standard avec un objectif ouvrant à 4,5 et le Special dont l'objectif est plus lumineux, puisqu'ouvrant à 3,5 ou 2,9.
Sa structure est originale, car le corps, en aluminium, est entièrement rigide mais extensible ; les ciseaux latéraux le montrent. Là où souvent il y a un soufflet, il y a une demie boîte rigide qui coulisse dans une autre formant la partie arrière de l'appareil. Au repos, la demi-boîte avant coulisse complètement dans l'autre et un abattant se replie pour protéger l'objectif. Le cône de visée reflex se replie en plusieurs parties.
L'arrière est pivotant.
Le déclencheur se trouve à main gauche et laisse la main droite libre pour effectuer la mise au point.
